My favorite place to share with newcomers to Minneapolis. The top of the hill in Gold Medal Park next to the Guthrie Theater.
Going up the blue lighted spiral walkway leads you to a square patch of trees that stand out at night being lit from below. From this point you can see much of downtown Minneapolis and the riverfront. If you look closely you will notice the absence of the new Vikings Stadium. This panoroma was captured before the Metrodome was demolished and the new stadium was built.
I captured this image with a DSLR camera on a tripod. Rotating the camera manually while capturing overlapping photos and repeating the process for multiple rows. This process creates a massive image that can be printed very large without losing any detail. This image pairs well with Mill City Silos that was captured a block away.
